Hello and welcome to Tea Beside The Sea. Located in the heart of Shoeburyness, just a short walk from the beautiful, tranquil East Beach.
Our family-run, fully licenced tearoom was established in 2016 by husband and wife, Vinny and Sarah and has quickly gone on to earn an outstanding reputation. Popular not only with the local community but with people traveling from afar to visit.
We offer private hire of our beautiful, intimate venue for special occasions such as baby showers, bridal showers, birthday celebrations and much more.
We hold regular ticketed events with some of the best tribute acts in the country.
To help us keep you safe and in return you keep us safe, please read and abide by the following rules and procedures that are necessary for all of our safety when visiting the tea room.
Face coverings must be worn at all times within the tea room. Unless you are exempt or seated at your table to eat or drink. Failure to do so may result in a fine for customers and the closure of the tea room.
⦁ On entering and leaving the tea room, please use the hand sanitizer provided.
⦁ Sanitised tables are clearly labelled. Please take a seat at a sanitised table only.
⦁ Once seated, please check-in on the NHS COVID-19 APP by scanning the QR code provided. This is mandatory for all guests.
⦁ Tables are allocated for your use for 1.5 hours to allow us to schedule bookings.
⦁ If popping in for coffee and cake, booking is not essential but is advisable to avoid disappointment.
⦁ We have a reduced menu. Our sweet treats & drinks menu is available. Our afternoon tea menus are available to book in advance.
⦁ We are operating a complete table service only, this means ordering at the table and asking for the bill at the table. You won’t be able to pay at the till as before.
⦁ Please remain at your table as much as possible.
⦁ Our maximum table size is 6.
⦁ Please do not move furniture, it’s spaced accordingly to adhere to social distancing rules.
⦁ Tables are cleaned and sanitised using a commercial strength, food safe sanitiser between each sitting.
⦁ Our toilet facilities are cleaned and sanitised regularly throughout the day.
⦁ Children are welcome in the tea room, but we ask that they stay seated at the table.
⦁ Unfortunately we unable to accommodate pushchairs within the tea room.
⦁ The entire tea room is cleaned and completely sanitised at the end of each day using a food safe room sanitiser.
As you’ll understand, we are doing everything we can to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Please bear with us as we adjust, together we can learn to adapt to the “new normal”.
